It is a cool story, might as well share it before some yahoo like myself comes along and spills the beans.
Have you seen the OKgo video on youtube? Jamiriquai obviously stole his routine from them. These guys are the fathers of boybands, but aren't really recognized as shame because they're brand new. Shame, shame.
I wonder if I spelt Jamiriquai correctly, I have no idea how it is spelt.
Well, as I saw this, I racked my brain trying to figgur eout how it was done when I first saw it. My initial thought was some sort of circular or cross shaped treadmill floor.
But the answer was so much simpler.
The roof of the set and the walls are on many small wheels, the rotating kind like you find on office chairs or shopping carts. They just went into a large soundstage, painted the floor neutral grey, anchored the camera to one "wall" and just moved the set around on the rather spacious floor.
All JK had to do was stand still, and the room moved around him.
I thought it was genius.
I'll have to check out that other video you mention too.
Just looked up OKgo. Great video (I assume you meant the treadmill one). However, I can't see how Jamariquoi stole his routine from them since this video was done in 1997, and OKgo was formed in 1998.
Ha ha! I've been a big Jamiroquai fan for quite some time, and that too is one of my favorite videos.
I'm a bit afraid to admit it, but when I hear some Jamiroquai, I'm always tempted to slide my office chair around the floor. A bit nerdish, but my friends get a kick out of it :)

I can also tell you how it's done, if anyone is interested, or dosen't already know.
I always got a kick out of that video. I wish I could steal his hat. Such a cool hat!
And...I'm no relation. -.-

Well, the moving floor is pretty obvious, as are the cuts, but please, speak on for the details!

But OKgo does do some cool little videos too.
DEVO used treadmills in their live shows in the early 1980's. Its tough to be "first" at anything!
