InkTank.com Is Open For Business!!!
That's right, InkTank.com is back, and with it a new strip called ... InkTank!
First off, I'd like to welcome any new readers to the site and to welcome back old friends who are returning after my all too long hiatus. What does this new site and strip mean for the future of InkTank? Well let me tell you:
1. I will be doing the one new strip (InkTank), posted Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
2. The strip is semi-autobiographical. True to life when it's funny, and can be "persuaded" in another direction when that situation would be funnier.
3. No new Angst Technology, Weak End Warriors or Sorry, We're Open strips will be created. They are available in the archives however.
As I stated in the title, InkTank.com open for business. That, to me, is more than a Blog header ... it's a statement. In the past, I've treated the site and my comics as a "creative outlet" and a hobby. But this time around I am making a real go of it. As I currently retain my web development job, I will work on InkTank as a strip and as a site to develop it into an eventual full time job. To that end, the site is currently stripped down while I focus on InkTank (no ads, no merchandise, no fluff). Over time, I will introduce things I feel the site needs to either generate revenue (ads, goodies to sell) or to entertain my readers (new content, articles, tutorials).
But for now, it's all about the strip and about me getting my cartooning muscles toned. It's been far too long and I can feel my creative bones creak with every pencil stroke.
I can promise this to you though, in the interest of professionalism (which I have traditionally strove for) the new strip will be:
1. On time - I did a strip every day for three years straight. I should be able to meet this minimum of a commitment.
2. Original - No cutting and pasting, unless it is in the service of a visual gag.
3. Creative - No more multiple panels of "talking heads" from the waist up. I am hoping to try to vary the frames and layouts and work within this new comic standard format.
Basically, in the interest of keeping the strip fresh and interesting, I will really be pushing myself in my artistic ability. Panel layout, staging, writing and perhaps someday (*gasp*) color!
Ideally I will be able to make this strip into a daily strip and make it my life's work.
And what a life it will be ... as you're about to see.

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
This is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thank you Barry!
"Angst Technology" was by far _the_ best web-comic I've ever encountered. Basically I thought it so could I couldn't understand why it wasn't syndicated. So I'm really delighted that you give your creative muscels another try.
Ironically enough I thought 6 months about removing my "inktank.com"-Bookmark, since nothing happened there. But then, all of a sudden, the IT-Ninjas appeared and I knew it was worth waiting.
So, good luck and loads of succes, both of which I'm pretty sure will come looking your way. Don't scare them ;)
Best(estestest) wishes!
Dome
I was a huge fan of Angst Tech and am so glad to see you getting back into the webcomic scene. Welcome back Barry :)

I've had Inktank in my daily looks for quite a while now, even when it was updated only once in a blue moon.
Glad I was too lazy to take it out. See...procrastination does pay off!
Welcome back...good luck!
i love you, Barry! You just made my day!

Glad to have you back, I look forward to the new strip!
Is it true? Is it a cruel April Fools Day joke!?
I knew there was a reason that I had inktank.com in my daily bookmarks folder :)
Good Luck Barry!
Welcome back!
Thanks gang! It's good to be back. =)
OMG you're back! I'm a huge fan from way back when you started. Still have my signed Dante pic you drew for a donation contest one month ^_^
Nice to see you're back.
Go barry, go barry!
if this is a cruel april fools joke...
buuuut i'll assume it isn't. welcome back to cartoons barry!
Glad to have you back. I will miss Angst Technology...but will always laugh at 'shake it like a corduroy ninja'.
Though if IT ninjas don't show up in your life, I may be very disappointed.
Yay!
Wow! I never lost faith & kept checking the site a few times a week all along. Loved Angst & the other strips - even bought an angst mug & w/end warrior T - well, actually I wanted an Angst T but clicked wrong button :-)
Anyway, Go Go Go - Wiiiieee! :-)
Roy Batty.
Congratulations Barry. The first day of you being back in comix. Great start.
-Chris
You wonderful, hairy, little man! Thankyou.
Are you still going to poke fun at the various industries and stupid comments they make?
Thank you very much.
This is like seeing an old friend again!
Something to look forward to coming into to work every day!
AT was the best comic out there, and I have been waiting for it to return.
Trevor
Welcome Back!
I was just sitting here looking up at the IT Ninja sketch (that I won from you long ago) perched above my office window, and decided to look in on the site.
Best of luck with the new venture. I'll be here reading!
-Gary
Glad you're back Barry!
Looks like a promising start. I will miss Dante and the gang, but sometimes you have to say goodbye to stuff.

Yea!
Welcome back! You were one of my fav's back in the day. =)
