My 10th AniversaWii

Ok, let me just tell you how awesome my wife is.

Recent example #1:
We moved last week AND had a birthday party to attend for her sister AND need to prep the house for an upcoming engagement party AND ... lots of other stuff.

Now usually I tape the Llama Report podcast on Saturday afternoons with Chris and Brian and Nick. We sometimes skip weeks when we are busy and I do hate to miss them since we have fun talking geeky stuff. Well this week we were about to get busy (in terms of starting to do all the stuff we had planned, not making the sexy time) and I told her it was a shame I was going to have to miss the weeks podcast taping.

    Her: What was the topic?
    Me: Horror movies.
Her: Oooooohhh *in an unusual tone*
    Me: Uh...are you mocking me?
Her: No, that sounds good. Session 9, Event Horizon...
    Me: I KNOW!
Her: Ok, we'll shuffle the schedule around, see what we can do.

Shuffle the schedule around! Postpone moving, put off family obligations, cease housework ... all so I can talk horror movies with my friends.

Gotta' love a woman like that!

Even more recent example #2:
She calls me this morning to ask where a co-worker could by a Wii Fit. I tell her that they are likely sold out until new shipments come in. Well, her co-worker really wants one and has called around and can I think of any places. Not off hand, but if I see one I'll pick it up for her friend.

    Her: Well, then get two.
    Me: Two?
Her: One for her and one for us.
Me: Well, we don't have a Wii. It needs a Wii console to work.
Her: I know. We can get it just in case we need it later. When we do get a Wii.
    Me: O - kay.
    Her: So you'll get two?
Me: Yea, if I find some.
Her: BUT DON'T BUY A Wii!
Me: O - kay. I won't buy a Wii. I will buy a Wii Fit though for the Wii we don't have.
    Her: I'm serious, DON'T BUY A Wii.
Me: Yea, no problem. Love you.
Her: Love you too. ... no Wii.
    *click*

Gee ... gues what I got today for our ten year anniversary (a few days early).

Gotta' love a woman like that.

Can't play poker with her ... but gotta' love her.

Love you sweetie. With all my heart.

And my Wii.

Well, anniversary ... but I appreciate the sentiment. And don't we have that "Why is she with HIM?" look about us?

I'm reminded of the comment in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"

Eddie Valiant: Seriously, what do you see in that guy?
Jessica Rabbit: He makes me laugh.

Unfourtnately (for me) not posed. I seem to have this knack for goofy faces when we are out and dressed up.

Hi, I am new to this comic and really digging it. I just had to leave a comment about the picture of you and your wife. It looks so much like some funny geek guy sneaking up behind a supermodel and popping into the photo as she gets her photo taken.

Keep up the good work, sir!

You do have the 'why is she with him' look, but the answer is usually 'She knows there's a good man inside the dorky exterior, AND she knows he'll work extra hard to keep her, cause she's hot."

:)

in reference to today's comic (the math one)... don't you curse everyday that you didn't invent the stick figure is good enough for a comic like xkcd?
and i'm pretty sure he didn't figure a physics background would lead to comics.

I am hoping to get some books done this time around. I'm starting small with some POD books of Sorry, We're Open and Weak-end Warriors.
