The Science of Humor

Yeah, I've had that little gem rolling around in my head since high school biology classes.

Joshua Jericho over at WTH? Comic recently posted a little interview he did with me. He asked questions and I (as usual) just ran with them. We cover my return to comic making, why I left, where I see the state of webcomics past and present and generally shoot the shit. It was a fun interview and I think you might enjoy it.

It's been a busy Wiik (that Wii speak for "week") as I've gotten more games. I've not set up Wii Fit yet, as I am waiting for monday to start a routing I can track (and possibly post results of) weekly. However, the family has been enjoying some Mario Kart time and recently I've been a bit obsessed getting gold boxes in Boom Blox. I am TOTALLY enjoying my Wii, but I think the only think the Wii falls a bit short on is shooter games. It doesn't seem to have the accuracy of a light gun based system, and while the reticle is nice (actually, scratch that, I hate reticles) I prefer the instinctual shooting of light guns. I always seem to be WAY off target from where I am pointing the Wiimote. I understand it is a limitation of the Wiimote system of infrared particles and ... sonar and ... PHD matter or magic weasels or whatever it is that makes the Wiimote work.

Still enjoying the hell out of it though.

There is an outside aspect that is making the Wii more enjoyable as well. A new office! Having gotten all moved in, I've posted pics in the "tutorials" section with pics of the new office. It's a damn sight better then being in the dark corner of the living room at the old place. I have made myself a promise not to allow the new office to fall into the same messy state as my last workspace. The new office space in the bigger bedroom is all laid out properly with my work area (and my wife's computer) on one side and a little entertainment area on the other. I definitely don't want to mess up my Feng Shui, what with the nice view and all.

And in sad news, a family favorite of ours, Harvey Korman has passed away. I remember watching the Carol Brunet show with my folks and them coming back from Blazing Saddles, nearly in tears from laughing in the car on the way home. Only when I was older and got to see the movie myself did I get to appreciate the movie and Harvey's signature role as Hedley Lamarr. Not to mention his role as Count DeMoney ("de Monet! de Monet!") in History of the World, pt. 1. We'll miss you Great Gazoo!

Karvey Korman 1927 - 2008

I always loved this sketch.
