] Yeah, the strip will have a completely different meaning for our English brethren.
Yup, I’ll speak up as the token confused Brit. I’m reading “Shite” as rhyming with Bright, though I guess it’s meant to rhyme with Shitty, due to the accent on the e?
I haven’t seen the US adverts, could someone link to a Youtube clip or something please?
The adverts repeatedly say (phonetically) “Kaf-fay” as in ‘Cafe’ (missing accent), so Dante is equating “Shitty” to “Shit-tay” (missing the accent, I’m too lazy to figure out how to put it in )
I just got it myself, having missed the accent and reading it as “shite”
As the token McD employee. The coffee over here in Britain isn’t that bad, its actually stronger than most places. Granted its not as good as Starbucks or Costa or a specialist place, but its not bad. Just takes about half an hour to cool down enough to drink
As a Canadien I am a little jaded as far as coffee goes, but having drunk McDonald coffee, I can say it is only slightly worse than Tim Horton, but that being said, I still think all coffee shops I have tasted make a piss pour cup of coffee.
Mind you, love the refrence, and seriously hate the newest McDonalds comercial. If the world ever gets suicide boths I think McDonalds ads will be played in them to make certain people do not back out. (Futurama reference)

Oh, what a surprise. Dante doesn’t like coffee you can drink, instead of eat with a fork.

Now some McDonald’s coffee is pretty good. All depends.

Tried the stuff once, though I’d accidentally drank someones urine sample.

Oh, I see what you did there.

It’s not that bad. Given, it’s not that good, but I’ve had far worse. It’ll do in a pinch. Better than starbucks!

I actually like their black coffee, they use SBC (Seattle’s Best Coffee).

Had to read it a second time to get the little accent on the “e”. Made me LOL. Those McDonald’s commercials are so damn annoying!

Hrm… The adverts actually add “-fay” to the end of common words, which is far more irritating. Guess I’m not watching enough TV

Ahh, Thanks Das Wiesel.
I probably should have made the connection to café, as the joke was about coffee, oops.
Using your extra info I’ve also found a copy of the ad on Youtube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbzeBj5gFlU, although I almost wish I hadn’t – that really is an irritating advert!

Yes, we know coffee is awful, but really, who didn’t?
